SUN DOWN CIRCLE #020
For Sun Down Circle #020 we are confident we have curated a line-up tailor made for both the beach club, the glorious Balinese sunset and Sun Down Circle. Balearic sunset maestro José Padilla takes centre stage, supported by Perth based Eleventeen Eston and to wind things up the latest project from Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area fame, Siren.

As well as the show at the Beach Club José Padilla will also be hosting a very special and intimate evening of musical and culinary delights at MoVida Bali and Akademi Bar on Wednesday 3rd August:

JOSÉ PADILLA
If ever there was a DJ that genuinely deserved the accolade of being a true pioneer of a genre then there are very few more qualified than José Padilla. Of Spanish decent he moved to the celebrated island of Ibiza in the 1970’s and carved out a niche for himself playing ambient sets in bars to accompany the incredible sunsets and to set the mood for the residents and guests on the island ahead of the long hedonistic nights Ibiza has long been renowned for.

José Padilla’s sets and the Balinese sunsets are a match made in heaven and never was this more evident than on New Years Day earlier this year when José took over the Beach Club for sunset and gave everyone’s eyes and ears the perfect tonic for the hangovers from the night before whilst perfectly demonstrating why there is no greater sunset DJ anywhere in the world.

If you missed that performance you need to make sure you are in attendance for this date, to witness a master at work, and if you were there on New Years Day, you’re probably already blocking out the diary!

ELEVENTEEN ESTON
Asking Perth based DJ and producer Eleventeen Eston to play alongside José was a simple choice when it came to curating this event, partly because it allowed us to continue our theme of giving another of Australia’s cool bright young things a chance to use the Beach Club as a platform. More importantly though Eleventeen Estons sound is also perfectly suited to José Padilla’s, with down tempo beats and eclectic sounds aplenty. Having released prodcutions on the internationally renowned Manchester based Balearic label Aficianado as well as the UK based Ruf Kutz label and LA based Not Not Fun records Eleventeen Eston is definitely one not to miss.

SIREN
Siren is the new project from Metro Area’s Darshan Jesrani and Dennis Kane, founder of Disques Sinthomme and Ghost Town. Their press release advises that they have played together in a variety of settings, including, “a Canal Street Loft, a Bushwick printing factory, a former ballroom dance studio in Chinatown, an old theater, an idyllic poolside on Long Island and a burlesque parlor.” They can soon add the Island of the Gods to that list and not a moment too soon. They are also sure to raise the tempo perfectly to continue the musical journey long into the night.
