Yesterday, pop music fans were sent into a tizzy when Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande interacted on Twitter, teasing that a special announcement was coming soon. Now, the pair have revealed what so many were hoping for: a collaboration, and their followers won’t have to wait long to hear what they’ve cooked up.
Titled “Stuck with U,” the track is a brand new composition from the two powerhouses of pop, and it’s coming on Friday, May 8. The musicians shared the official cover on their Instagram pages just a short time ago, confirming the fantastic news.
A collaboration between two of the biggest stars on the planet is always going to be a major event, but their new single is made even more exciting due to the fact that it’s all for a good cause. According to Bieber’s Instagram post, “proceeds from the sales and streams of #StuckwithU will fund grants and scholarships for children of first responders who have been impacted by COVID-19 in partnership with the First Responders Children’s Foundation.”
“Stuck with U” is apparently the first single taken from a complete album of singles released specifically to raise money for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. A statement shared with Billboard reveals that Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, which counts both Bieber and Grande as clients, has been working behind the scenes to put the compilation together. Throughout the rest of the year, new tracks will be rolled out, with all the proceeds going to those who desperately need it.
The new cut is the first piece of new music from Grande this year, though she hasn’t been quiet for long, as 2019 was one of the biggest periods in her career. Bieber has been very active throughout the first few months of 2020, as he dropped a new album, Changes, and has charted quite a few wins. Including his own top 10 hits “Yummy” and “Intentions” with Quavo, his single with Dan + Shay, the country-pop smash “10,000 Hours” which appeared last year, has also been going strong.
