STADIUMX – START OF PHILOSOPHY

Well known Hungarian DJ/Producer duo consisting of David and Sully. As long time members of the Protocol family with many releases and quite a few bangers it is impossible to not know Stadiumx! From the vivid city of Budapest, two Hungarian producers that go by the name of David and Sullivan form Stadiumx. At the end of 2012, Stadiumx was the start of a philosophy by Dave and Sully. They were both under the impression that if they would create a unique, energetic sound, while fusing production techniques from multiple genres and combining their own sound design, their would be a cool synergy resulting in unique music, which resulted in the birth of the Xsound.
Playing at Tomorrowland, Ushuaia, Sziget Festival, Balaton Sounds and Octagon, just to name a few; the Stadiumx guys are progressively conquering the big stadiums!

‘Howl At The Moon’, released by Protocol, has turned out to be a favorite for many DJs to play in their sets. Besides having reached the #1 position on the overall Beatport charts, ‘Howl At The Moon’ also became the most played track at Ultra Miami and it became the best sold release ever within the Protocol family, which led to Stadiumx receiving a platinum record! Since then, their career has really taken off, following up with several originals (‘Ghosts’ with Tom Swoon, ‘Wonderland’, ‘Glare’, ‘Time Is On Your Side ft. Delaney Jane’), remixes, such as Lovers On The Sun for David Guetta, which resulted in Stadiumx playing at Ibiza with Guetta himself, Sugar for Robin Schulz and Cash Cash for Gareth Emery! Their successes at Protocol paved the way for several gigs with Nicky Romero and a collab with him, ‘Harmony’! Stadiumx is ready for the neXt big thing!

You are a Hungarian DJ & Production duo, with a focus on Progressive House. How would you describe your own music in just a few words?

Progressive and we like music with vocals. We also want the audience to go crazy, so a good drop is very important!

Your international breakthrough came with the track “Howl at the Moon”, which was debuted by Nicky Romero at the “Nicky Romero & Friends Protocol Recordings Label Night” at ADE. The track took the #1 position on the overall Beatport charts and became the most played track at Ultra Miami 2014. What other tracks would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?

Ghost is a track we’re also very proud of, and ‘Surrender’, ‘Lovers on the Sun’, ‘Eye of the Storm’ and of course all the other ones!

You founded Stadiumx in 2012. Looking back on the past 3 eventful and successful years, what were the best and the worst gigs you played and what were the funniest things that occurred during your performances?

That’s a tough one. We never experienced anything too crazy (yet) during our performances and we enjoyed every gig we did so far, but one of the most memorable performances was the one at Amsterdam Dance Event, where Nicky Romero surprised us on stage with a platinum record for ‘Howl at the Moon’. That was a big moment for us!

You are from Budapest – the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in Central Europe. What can you tell us about clubbing and nightlife there? Do you have any nightlife-related suggestions for first-time visitors?

We both still live in Budapest, so we love the city a lot. Clubbing is great here and people here love electronic music! Club Play is probably one of the best clubs, so we recommend it!

What did you do before Stadiumx?

I started DJing like 10 years ago. Before Stadiumx I was Dave Martin, a solo artist. I had some releases on Spinnin’ Records and Toolroom Records.

What’s your favorite social media? Do you like snapchat?

Yeah, Sometimes its fun. I really like Instagram. You can post what you want. Whereas Facebook is more about promotion, where we’re playing, or what is our new record.
