Kid Fiesta has been immersed in the dance music scene since the early 1990’s, growing up on a staple diet of hip hop and early house in Manchester clubs such as The Hacienda.
Landing his first residency at an underground house night in Bradford West Yorkshire, Kid Fiesta cut his teeth alongside UK House Pioneer Darius Syrossian with the two playing monthly events at arguably one of the north of England’s largest raves between 1994-97.
Moving to London in 2000, Fiesta found his groove organising events at a range of venues taking in some of the Capitals most celebrated spaces including Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, 93 Feet East, Herbal as well as a series of legendary boat parties on the River Thames.
A few years later in 2006 his passion for creating, as well as DJing, at events lead to the formation of Bloom Festival – a multi-faceted clubbing and arts brand which showcased a range of live acts and DJs across 3 days. Over it’s life span main stage performances from Roisin Murphy, Stereo MCs, Roni Size ‘Reprazent’, Cold Cut, 808 State and Zero7 were complimented by DJ sets from the likes of Ame, Justin Robertson, Pendulum, Terry Farley, Tom Middleton, Kissy Sell Out, and The Nextmen.
More recently Kid Fiesta has been prominent on the UK scene with, amongst other things, his involvement with Standon Calling Festival. Along with being the festivals staple closing DJ each year, he also curates the UKs only outdoor pool-side stage festival stage. Now in it’s 5th year “Kid Fiesta’s Groove Garden” takes a the dancefloor on an eclectic journey from soul, funk and disco through to soulful, jacking and deep house – just think of the best house party you have every been to and add a splash of quality from DJs such as Maseo (De La Soul), Greg Wilson, Faze Action, Asadinho, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Crazy P, Dub Pistols.
Just at home spinning deep house music as jump up party style hip hop, disco, funk and soul – Kid Fiesta is a rare beast. With a vinyl collection of 5K+ and a collection spanning almost 25 years his versatility is a rare commodity.
