Australian DJ and producer Ben O’Connor, better known as Benson, makes a wide variety of swaggering, bass-heavy club music, including late-2010s hits such as “Step to Me” and “Resolution.”
The Melbourne-based artist has been active since the early 2010s. He has released solo tracks in styles ranging from deep tech-house to dubstep, and has remixed artists such as Peking Duk, Yolanda Be Cool, and Crooked Colours. However, he has received the most attention for his vocal-driven house tracks, such as 2014’s “Hot Mess” (feat. Lex Famous) and 2015’s “Hollow” (feat. Thom Crawford), both on the Sweat It Out! label. Benson and collaborator Mike Metro began releasing tracks as the duo Dance Cult in 2015. Benson‘s solo single “Step to Me” appeared in 2016 and topped the Australian club charts for four weeks. He followed this with other successful singles such as 2017’s “Trying” (feat. Yeo) and 2018’s “Resolution” (feat. Rromarin).
