2015 is shaping up to be the year of the comeback, with veteran dance acts like The Prodigy, The Orb and Leftfield all set for a welcome return to form. Now, after an extended hiatus, electronic trailblazers Chemical Brothers are also back in the spotlight.

After lining up this year’s upcoming European summer festival circuit — including outdoor heavy-hitters like Glastonbury, Barcelona’s Sónar and Switzerland’s Montreux Jazz — the duo is also teasing the upcoming release of a new album. Now, finally, we get our first snippet of what’s to come.

Yesterday, the British duo — aka Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons — published a short clip to their Facebook page featuring some minimal visuals backed by their signature, pulsating acid techno sound. New music from the pair should be imminent.

Over on the band’s Wikipedia page, a new entry, Born in The Echoes, is listed as their ninth studio album. When it’s released later this year, this LP would be the first full-length studio effort from the production team since 2010’s Further and 2011’s Hanna soundtrack. Reinforcing the wikipedia update last night a very small teaser video has been shared on their facebook page which matches their new timeline artwork!

Speaking at Sónar last year, Rowlands confirmed that they were cooking up something new. “We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers,” he said.

Fasten your seatbelts people, The Chemical Brothers are back!
