Following on from his ‘Rolling’ EP that dropped in January and featured the outstanding ‘Blue’, an early contender for one of the strongest tracks of the year, Julian Jeweil drops the crisp intergalactic techno trip ‘Space’. Beginning with the stirring subterranean stabs of ‘Answer’, a track already familiar to fans after it featured on DCR368 Live from Loveland with Adam Beyer, the EP takes in a quintuple of cuts that reinforce the Frenchmen’s skill for creating peak-time dancefloor weapons. ‘Encke’ is deliciously mind-bending, led by heavy bass stabs and distorted effects, before ‘Module’ follows providing a groovier, but no less powerful contrast. ‘South’ is true to its name, a beastly low end tour de force, before the title track ‘Space’ rounds out the EP in stunning fashion with stirring vocal effects that builds up tremendously before giving way to punchy acid-laced climax.
