Numerous reports have been circulating in recent weeks about ‘Dream Island’ in Dubai and yes its true and correct it is called Dream Island!
A purpose built party landmark is on its way featuring 2 super clubs, 100’s of restaurants, 10 beach clubs and hotels aplenty to satisfy the next clubbing destination on the global circuit. As Bali continues to build momentum as a stand out location to visit for all your clubbing needs European visitors and Southern Hemisphere dwellers going the other way might just have a new route to consider as Dubai is offering a new kind of one stop party shop.
Investors are currently seeking 3.2 billion USD and with the oil rich investors, sheiks and business’s alike rest assured it wont be a place for the cheap backpacker styled visitors but targeted towards a older more upmarket style customer looking to let the hair down, soak up the sun and spend up big. According to sales and marketing director George Saad, the plan is to make Dream Island the “new Ibiza” which is dedicated “solely to partying”. The party town was recently on show and seeking British investment at the Dubai Property Show, in Kensington Olympia.
The island will be in Ras Al Khaimah, which is only a 40-minute drive from Dubai, once construction is completed and quoted as catering to 20,000 visitors at any one time. The 4 million square foot island will feature no homes and will only be open to visitors and residents of the neighbouring islands. The island was built in 2013 and development to make it into a clubber’s paradise is expect to be finished by 2018.
The four islands of Al Marjan stretch nearly three miles out into the sea and cover an area of 2.7 million square metres. What are you waiting for? 2018 I guess, just like us..
