Now that Miami Music Week and Ultra are in the rearview, it’s time to warm up for the summer party season. With new festival lineups and tour announcements dropping every day, 2015’s balmy months are going to be one very happy blur.
Miami Music Week is the place where new tracks are put through their paces, and a few go on to rule the summer. With that in mind, we went in search of some predictions. During the week-long party marathon, we put a simple question to an all-star cast of DJs and producers, “What’s the song of the summer going to be?” Our panel: Steve Aoki, Sander van Doorn, Laidback Luke, Sasha, DVBBS, Dannic, Soul Clap, Jamie Jones, Blasterjaxx, Nicky Romero, Hardwell and Paul van Dyk.
Soul Clap kept us entertained on a bus heading to their annual Catalina F*cking Wine Mixer in Miami, dressed head-to-toe in some of the most colorful summer garb we’ve ever seen. Meanwhile, Paul van Dyk spoke of the “instant connection” his upcoming track “Lights” has on dancefloors, Hardwell gave props to his main stage peer Alesso, Jamie Jones singled out a Hot Creations recruit and Sander van Doorn couldn’t pick just one future anthem. (For UK legend Sasha, it was simply impossible to answer.)
You can check out all their choices in the video below – and listen out for these all summer long.
