It’s been a while since the Fresh Prince’s been in the game, but actor-rapper Will Smith has announced a 2016 world tour to mark his return with none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff. While TV series the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air came to an end after 6 years in September 1990, over a million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Will (Will Smith) and since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
In a new interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 Radio, Smith revealed that “Fiesta” is just the first of many new tracks on the way. Better yet, he has plans for a full-fledged tour.
“I’m from the era of 16 bars, hook, 16 bars, hook, bridge, hook, out. I’m definitely interested in pushing the envelope of spittin’—how far can you go? I’ma keep giving it a shot up until I’m 70 or 80 years old. I’m just trying to still find that voice; I have so many things that I wanna say. I’m struggling with saying ’em in a way that fit the flavour of music that I tend to like.”
In between shoots for the Suicide Squad movie, Smith said he’s spent nearly every day in the studio, resulting in upwards of 30 tracks recorded. Of those, “I have six or seven that I really like,” he added.
Even still, Smith has yet to find his creative groove. “I have so many things I want to say, and I’m struggling to say them in a way that fit the flavor of music I tend to like,” the 47-year-old rapper-turned actor explained. “I’m from the era where it’s 16 bars and hook, 16 bars and hook, bridge, hook, and out.”

Smith added that he’s working with several different collaborators, both young and old, but failed to mention any names. What he did reveal, however, are plans for an extensive summer tour alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff. Smith said it will be the largest outing of his career.
While on the film front, Will Smith officially confirmed his participation in Bad Boys 3, which is rumoured to surface in the next 12 to 16 months.
